Welcome
I am
delighted to announce that we have officially been taken out of
special measures by Ofsted, who inspected the school on Tuesday
13th and Wednesday 14th March. The school has
been improving rapidly over the last 18 months and the inspectors
had no hesitation but to judge the school as 'now satisfactory and
rapidly improving'. A copy of the inspection report can be viewed
by clicking here. We are particularly
pleased that the following three major areas identified
during the Ofsted inspection in October 2010 as 'inadequate'
are now judged as being 'good'.
I
am very proud of all the students and staff, who have been working
incredibly hard to turn the school around: it really is
unrecognizable from the school it was 18 months ago. This
transformation has been achieved through the efforts of the staff,
parents/carers, students and governors all working together as a
huge team.
The process, at heart, has always been about giving our
students a school and an education which they deserve and can be
proud of. This now becomes an exciting starting point for continued
success and improvement. I feel both immensely proud and privileged
to have led the school through such a period of rapid growth.
However, it will be of no surprise to you that we are not happy
with just being satisfactory. The outcome of this Ofsted inspection
has provided us with valuable guidelines, which we will
relentlessly focus upon to ensure we continue to move in the right
direction. We will continue to further improve until we reach our
aim of becoming an outstanding school.
I
would like to thank all students and parents/carers for supporting
our continual drive for improvement.
